The best time of year

The best time of year in NOLA. Mardi Gras. This year it got even better with the Chris Stone Bachelor party and the World Champion New Orleans Saints. What an insane couple of weeks. To Start, Stone. A total of nine of us roaming around New Orleans for two days. We started in the French Quarter where we went to the Erin Rose, Emeril's NOLA restaurant, Molly's, DBA, The Spotted Cat, Rbar, Laffet's Blacksmith shop... back to the Rose. After 3 hours sleep we got up and went to Deja Voux for food. We went to the Ritz and hung out at the spa. Then the Alibi. Harrah's for blackjack. We watched Krewe De Vioux. We went uptown to Dos Jeffes as well as The Columns. We went to Parasols for about five minutes before heading back to the quarter to eat at Coops. ( I only go into such detail because I know no one remembers where the hell we went). Sunday morning everyone was a little slower. Brunch at the hotel and a final drink at the Rose while watching an impromptu Saints parade in the sun. What a blast. Everyone was cool and nobody died. I consider that a success.

Then the Superbowl. An indescribably good time. An event that will go down in history. We were right in the middle of the Quarter to watch and feel the passion. I put up a video of Bourbon St in the moments after the Saints won. It is better then my words could describe. Then yesterday was the victory parade. They say there were 800,000 people in New Orleans to see the parade. The population is only 350,00 in the city. I've never seen that many people on the street.

Next... Mardi Gras. It's hard to believe that there is more to celebrate. More to drink. More parties and parades and dressing up, and staying out, and eating and..... good thing we practice all year long.

Cheers,

J
